Main methods of measuring dissolved oxygen in water

dissolved oxygen is very important in the process of water quality monitoring. For fish in water, dissolved oxygen needs to be greater than 4 mg/L to ensure their normal life activities,The main measurement methods of dissolved oxygen in water are: iodine measurement method, electrochemical probe method, conductivity method and fluorescence method. Iodine measurement was the first method used to measure dissolved oxygen in water and is the benchmark method for measuring dissolved oxygen in water. When water contains reducing substances such as sodium nitrite, sulfide, thiourea, humic acid, or tannin, it can greatly interfere with the iodine titration data. In this case, the electrochemical probe method is recommended. Electrochemical probe method is widely used in practical work due to its fast measurement speed, stable results, accurate data and less interference.
